The trio was reported missing several days before their bodies and car were recovered from the water, ending a nationwide search last week.

Police top brass are among mourners at Linda’s funeral, including Deputy Police Minister Polly Boshielo and Deputy Police Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya.

Sibiya addressed mourners at the St Rose Catholic Church earlier, giving family and friends assurance about the ongoing probe into the incident.

“The vehicle accident unit of the police service is still conducting further investigations, and we await a comprehensive report that will reveal the cause of the accident.”

Sibiya said he hopes the police force honours Linda’s memory by serving with the same zeal and dedication the 24-year-old showed.

“Remember that in times of danger, he stood as our shield, in moments of uncertainty, he brought calm. We may never be able to measure the full impact of Constable Linda’s service, but we do know this, our community is safer, stronger, and better because of him.”
