Linda, Boipelo Senoge, and Keamogetswe Buys died in April when their car plunged into the Hennops River in Centurion.
They had been missing for several days before their bodies were discovered in the river.
Scene reconstruction experts are yet to confirm the exact circumstances of the crash.
Speaking at his funeral earlier, his cousin, Angela Linda, told mourners she was battling to come to terms with the 24-year-old’s death.
“My brother, my friend, my heart, the first day you went missing was the most difficult, as I had to face the possibility of living in a world where you don’t exist. So, on the day the confirmation came that you were gone, I was shattered.”
Angela said she has lost more than just a relative.
“Yes, we were family by chance but best friends by choice and I’m so glad we chose each other. You were one of the most dedicated people I know, and you always achieved what you put your mind to and for that I will always be proud.”
