JOHANNESBURG - The families of missing couple, journalist Aserie Ndlovu and his partner Zodwa Mdhluli, say they are no longer hopeful their loved ones will be found alive.

The families are waiting for DNA results to confirm whether or not the two sets of remains found in thick bushes outside Rust de Winter in Limpopo by police belong to their loved ones.

The pair had been missing for more than 80 days.

One of the five accused suspects helped lead police to where the victims were found - just 72 kilometres from where the couple was last seen in Mpumalanga.

Zodwa Mdhluli's son, Treasure Mdhluli, says he just wants confirmation for closure.

"At this point, I feel it's highly unlikely. I feel it's highly unlikely that they'll find them alive. To some extent, I do believe that it's their remains that were found."
