JOHANNESBURG - A Limpopo father and his accomplice have been sentenced to life imprisonment for the rape of two siblings.
The two men appeared at the Limpopo High Court on Thursday, where they were found guilty of the sexual assault and abuse of 9 and 11-year-old girls.
Their sentence comes after the children had gone through almost a year of rape and abuse at the hands of their biological father and his friend.
Between 2022 and 2023, the little girls were subjected to extreme abuse in the care of their father.
After the 37-year-old’s separation from the girl's mother, the children were physically abused and made to conduct sexual activities with their father.
The Limpopo man also used his daughters to pay his farm workers when he failed to compensate them.
The minors were also sexually assaulted countless times by their father's friend.
Limpopo Police Spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba, "The ordeal only came to light between august and November 2023 when an attentive educator observed concerning behavioural changes in the children. After they disclosed the abuse, the educator promptly alerted relevant stakeholders, including social workers and the police, leading to the immediate removal of the children to a place of safety.”
Provincial Police Commissioner, Thembi Hadebe and said that this case was the most horrific case the province has witnessed.
