1 person killed, 2 seriously injured in head-on collision near Humansdorp

JOHANNESBURG - One person has died and two others were seriously injured in a head-on collision on the R102 near Humansdorp in the Eastern Cape.

Authorities said that a bakkie heading towards Humansdorp crashed into a Suzuki seven-seater heading in the opposite direction towards Tsitsikamma.

Eastern Cape Transport Department spokesperson Makhaya Komisa said that a case of culpable homicide was being investigated.

"In the bakkie, there was a driver and a passenger. The driver passed away at the scene, and the passenger was rushed to the hospital. In the Suzuki 7-seater, only the driver was in the vehicle, and he was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.”
