JOHANNESBURG - Operations at the Meyerton taxi rank have been halted following a shooting on Tuesday morning.
Details remain unclear, but eyewitnesses say gunfire erupted when three men opened fire with a high-calibre gun in the heart of the CBD.
All entrances to the taxi rank have been sealed off with police tape as the crime scene remains active.

Crime scene experts are on their hands and knees, looking for evidence, as officers keep a watchful eye on curious onlookers gathered at a petrol station just across the street.
Provincial police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi explains, "Police received reports of random shooting. And upon arrival at the scene indeed, they were reports that they were allegedly to security companies that were shooting at each other."
Shaken residents are silently watching the aftermath of what appears to be another brazen act of violence.
Police say a scholar injured on their way to school was lightly injured, during the pandemonium.
