JOHANNESBURG โ€“ The Confederation of African Football (CAF) unveiled its brand-new Champions League trophy on Thursday.

In 2016, Mamelodi Sundowns lifted the previous version and have a chance to become the first side to win the new trophy, battling it out in this yearโ€™s final with newcomers Pyramids FC.

The first leg will be played on Saturday, 24 May in Pretoria, while the return leg is scheduled for 1 June in Cairo.

The unveiling was attended by some of African football legends, including Lucas Radebe, Teko Modise and Siphiwe Tshabalala, as well as several African football leaders.
