After two days of persistent rain, disaster risk management officials visited affected areas to assess the impact and immediate needs of residents.

CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town's Disaster Risk Management Centre (DRMC) teams had their hands full assessing floods in metropole areas on Wednesday.

After two days of persistent rain, disaster risk management officials visited affected areas to assess the impact and immediate needs of residents.

Spokesperson Sonica Lategan says officials attended to floods in areas including Masiphumelele, Village Heights, Overcome Heights, Lwandle, Khayelitsha and Monwabisi.

Lategan says flooding also affected Green Point Phase 3, GG Section, France, BM Section, Qandu-Qandu and Du Noon.

"No persons have been displaced; however, the DRMC is liaising with relevant city departments to provide assistance with highlighted needs.”
