Outgoing Hawks head Lebeya to be honoured with ceremony marking end of his term

JOHANNESBURG - Outgoing Hawks head Godfrey Lebeya will be honoured in a ceremony on Friday to mark the end of his term.

Lebeya was appointed in 2018 to head up the priority crimes unit and 31 May will mark his last day in office.

A man of many titles - advocate, doctor, Lieutenant-General Godfrey Lebeya will be celebrated on Friday night in a black tie event in Pretoria.

Special guests have started making their way into the Batter Boys Guest House in Montana, where Lebeya is expected to share details about his highs and lows while heading up one of the police’s top units.

While Friday's event is expected to be celebratory, Lebeya still has his final address to make and questions to field on Saturday before the media.
