CAPE TOWN - A Grade 10 learner is recovering in hospital after being stabbed with a knife by another learner at a Cape Town school.
The incident was reported at Cravenby Combined School on Tuesday.
The Western Cape Education Department's Bronagh Hammond said, "The Western Cape Education Department can confirm that a Grade 8 learner allegedly stabbed a Grade 10 learner at the school. The perpetrator immediately fled the scene. The school arranged for immediate medical assistance. The victim was transported to hospital. The victim is thankfully in recovery."
The school said counselling would be provided by those directly involved.
