JOHANNESBURG - Mourners have gathered at the South African State Theatre in Pretoria for a second memorial service for Presley Chweneyagae.

Earlier this week, Chweneyagae was honoured by family, friends and entertainment industry colleagues in Mahikeng.

The 40-year-old actor died last week due to respiratory issues.

The theatre was teeming with mourners who've arrived to honour the late actor.

Chweneyagae’s passing has stunned fans and industry colleagues alike.

The lead actor in the Oscar-winning film Tsotsi is being celebrated by many at Thursday's memorial service.

Actress Emma MmeKwa said the industry not only lost a powerhouse in the fraternity, but a great investor of talent.

"We have lost a person who was changing the world of artists. We have lost a president of artists."

She added that his presence would be greatly missed in the local film industry.
