Murdered IFP deputy chief whip Sithole to be laid to rest in Nkandla

JOHANNESBURG - On Sunday, the IFP closes the curtain on one of its own - murdered IFP deputy chief whip Khethamabala Petros Sithole.
The MP's funeral service is being held at Sithole's homestead in Nkandla KwaZulu-Natal, where scores of mourners have gathered.
Fondly known as KP in political circles, Sithole has been described as a politician who dedicated much of his 68-years to public service.
Sithole was gunned down last week during a meeting at the Buyafuthi hostel in Katlehong, east of Johannesburg
The party described the killing of Sithole as an assassination.
Sithole joined the IFP as a young man, rising through the ranks from his time as an Ekurhuleni councillor all the way up to being the party’s deputy chief whip in Parliament.
Two suspects have been arrested for the crime and appeared before the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court last week.
The party has welcomed the arrest and reiterated its satisfaction with the progress in the matter.
Two other IFP members were wounded during the shooting and continue to recover in hospital
The party's president Velenkosini Hlabisa will be delivering a eulogy to honour his fellow comrade and long-serving IFP member.
