JOHANNESBURG - Mduduzi Mnisi’s family has strongly denied that he murdered teenager Likhona Fose.

Mnisi appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrates Court on a charge of premeditated murder on Wednesday morning.

Fourteen-year-old Fose's mutilated body was discovered in an open veld, not far from her home, a day after she was reported missing.

The man accused of her murder was questioned and arrested almost two weeks later.

Mnisi's younger brother, Sibusiso Mnisi, says that after talking to his brother and questioning him about whether what the police accuse him of is true, he believes he is innocent.

“My brother is just a man who is unemployed and was looking for work. Seeing him like this in court does not make me happy. Of course, we will have to see what the court says, but I believe my brother did not kill the girl. He does not have the heart to kill someone in such a horrible way.”
