JOHANNESBURG - A defence lawyer in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial has argued that if his client is not granted a dental examination by a surgeon, the court would be denying him his dignity and respect.
Lawyers for the alleged gunman, Mthobisi Mncube, are arguing for him to be taken for examination after the State led evidence that suggested that he had a gold tooth at the time of Meyiwa’s murder.
This was revealed last week during the testimony by cellphone data analyst Sergeant Moses Mabasa.
The defence wants this to be confirmed by both a State and private dentist.
Mncube’s lawyer, Advocate Charles Mnisi, has pointed out that the evidence by the State was a shocker to his client.
