JOHANNESBURG - The family of 14-year-old Likhona Fose says their hope is for bail to be denied for the man accused of the child's brutal murder.
Thirty-nine-year-old Mduduzi Mnisi made his second appearance at the Roodepoort Magistrates Court on Thursday on a charge of murder.
Fose's mutilated body was found just meters from her home in Durban Deep, west of Johannesburg.
Her family was hoping to see some progress in the matter that was scheduled for a bail application, only for proceedings to hit another snag.

The teen girl's family was early to arrive at the Roodepoort Magistrates Court, as they expected the first day of a bail hearing for Mnisi.
The 39-year-old, who is from the same community as the Fose family, looked relaxed in the dock, maintaining eye contact with those in the public gallery and even flashing a smile at some familiar faces.
But to the family's disappointment, Magistrate Anneline Africa granted yet another postponement to the matter.
Fose's grandfather, Thozamile Mlenze, says they are anticipating that Mnisi will be denied bail.
"What we're begging the courts for, with regards to the application this boy is bringing forward, is that we won't be happy if he is granted bail. Because as a family, it would be a big blow to us."
Meanwhile, the National Prosecution Authority (NPA) says its ready to oppose bail during the application.
