JOHANNESBURG - The government is confident that justice will be served, following the brutal murders of journalist Aserie Ndlovu and his partner Zodwa Mdhluli.
Ndlovu was laid to rest in Kwamhlanga on Saturday on what would have been his 39th birthday.
The couple disappeared in February, and their remains were found last month in Limpopo.
Eight suspects are in custody and are facing charges of kidnapping, murder, and possession of stolen property.

Deputy Minister in The Presidency, Kenny Morolong, paid tribute to Ndlovu at the funeral and assured the families that justice will not be delayed.
"We are confident that our criminal justice system will ensure that those responsible for this heinous act face the full wrath of the law. We intend to make sure of it.”
Morolong added that the country has lost two citizens who dedicated their lives to uplifting their communities.
"Let me reiterate the point that I made, that Aserie Ndlovu and Zodwa Mdhluli were dutiful citizens of this country, who had lots to offer to our communities. Their lives were cut short by barbarians whose actions have torn our hearts apart."
