24 June 2025 | 9:58Refugees living at two temporary sites in Cape Town are reacting to the City of Cape Town's move to evict them. Authorities have approached the Western Cape High Court for an eviction order to remove the group from the Wingfield and Bellville tent sites. While some refugees say they’re not prepared to leave, others are pleading for improved assistance and long-term solutions. The group was moved to the sites following a mass sit-in at the UN Refugee Agency offices in 2019.
