The 34-year-old is known for his role as Shaka Zulu in the fan favourite series ‘Shaka iLembe’.
The series returned for a second season, Shaka’s story continuing as he claims his rightful place as King.
Its debut season was incredibly successful, winning big at last year’s South African Film and Television Awards.

Being from KwaZulu-Natal, Tsipa says taking on the role of Shaka was big shoes to fill, after the legendary Henry Cele.
But he learned that even the big and powerful Shaka Zulu was human.
“I learned that he [Shaka] was a human being with flaws, he is somebody that cried, that was bullied, somebody that learnt to stand up for himself and made all these decisions and found a little bit of love.”

“If I messed it up, I’ve got to move my mom… the weight is so heavy because it’s a legacy that lives on to this day… Zulus are very proud of who they are and fight for what they believe in.”
