Following a call received by the City of Ekurhuleni Call Centre early Wednesday morning, the Primrose fire station, backed by the Bedford View, Edenvale, Albertina Sisulu, and Rynfield fire stations, swiftly responded and managed to get the fire under control.
Two people have been injured in the fire, one who sustained injuries on his leg as he was assisting with extinguishing the fire, while the other suffered smoke inhalation.
The two were transported to the Germiston Hospital by Gauteng Emergency Management Services (EMS) for further medical care.
