If you live in the eastern parts of Tshwane, make sure to charge your devices and prepare accordingly.
A planned shutdown of the power supply to Wapadrand and Mooikloof Substations will take place on Sunday (29 June 2025) from 9am to 1pm.
The City of Tshwane says this forms part of ongoing work on the big Watloo–Njala transmission line project, which is all about improving electricity supply across the city’s eastern grid.
The City explained that during the outage, technical teams will be linking a new line to the existing one, installing key components, and running some tests to make sure everything works as it should.
The four-hour outage will affect the following areas:
• Mooikloof
• Garsfontein
• Woodhill
• Moreleta Park
• ZW Line
• Pretorius Park
• Mooikloof Ridge
• Olympus
• Wapadrand
• Silverlakes
