JOHANNESBURG - The bail hearing of the man charged with the premeditated murder of 14-year-old Likhona Fose continues on Wednesday morning.

Mduduzi Mnisi's hearing was prematurely adjourned last week at the Roodepoort Magistrates Court in Johannesburg after a key witness failed to show up in court on time.

Mnisi pleaded not guilty to the charge, claiming there is video footage to prove his innocence.

Fose's mutilated body was discovered in an open veld, not far from her home in Durban Deep, in June.

On the first day of the bail hearings last Tuesday, Mnisi told the court that the investigating officer in charge of the case was not doing a thorough work in investigating the matter, claiming that he had relayed information to him, including evidence that was in his phone that proves he was not with the girl on the day she disappeared.

Mnisi was reportedly last seen with 14-year-old Fose before she vanished and was later discovered mutilated.

He also told the court that he later came back home to his girlfriend, who can give a witness account of the information.

The hearing was rolled over for his partner, Pinky, to give a witness account on his behalf. However, the matter was further postponed after she did not make an appearance on time.

On Wednesday, the hearing continues for possible investigation findings to be revealed.
