JOHANNESBURG - Some communities in Tshwane have been urged to brace themselves for 16 days of interrupted water supply starting from Thursday.
This comes as Rand Water continues with its May to July maintenance across the province.
Residents who are supplied by the Hartebeeshoek Reservoir, such as Ga-Rankuwa, Soshanguve and Hartbeeshoek, will be affected.
The metro’s Selby Bokaba said that high-lying areas will not have any water during the maintenance period.
“This essential work, which will affect Tshwane’s reservoirs and meters that are supplied by the Hartebeeshoek Reservoir, is scheduled to start tomorrow [Thursday], 03 July 2025 at 07h00 and is expected to be completed on Friday, 18 July 2025, at 19h00. According to Rand Water, their team of technicians will, in the first 2 days of the scheduled work, isolate and test the valves before draining the reservoir into the municipal reticulation system. The draining process is expected to take three days.”
