CAPE TOWN - Stellenbosch police are still searching for the suspects responsible for the deaths of two brothers in Kayamandi.
The men were murdered last week at their barbershop in Makupula Street.
According to police, two armed suspects approached the duo and opened fire.
One victim died at the scene, and another succumbed to his wounds upon arrival at the hospital.
Police spokesperson Malcolm Pojie says extortion is believed to be the motive behind the crime.
“Later the same evening, members took three suspected extortionists, aged between 16 and 17 in for questioning. These suspects were released the following day as they could not be directly linked to the murder. We appeal to anyone with information to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111.”
