CAPE TOWN - Police have confiscated mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of over R700 000.
Members attached to Operation Restore followed up on information in the Tygerberg sub-district when they searched a premises in Lima Street in Malibu Village on Tuesday.
They discovered the drugs and arrested a 49-year-old man.
On the same day, members of the Anti-Economic Crimes Task Team were on patrol in Kraaifontein when they made an arrest.
Police spokesperson, Joseph Swartbooi, said the suspects were expected to appear in the Blue Downs Magistrates Court soon.
"The members apprehended the man, searched him and confiscated a small quantity of drugs and a pistol with ammunition found on his person. They detained the 26-year-old man for the possession of drugs as well as for the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition."
