JOHANNESBURG - The mother of slain 11-year-old Jayden-Lee Meek is continuing her bid for bail in the Roodepoort Magistrates Court on Monday.

Tiffany Meek wants to be released, arguing that she is being framed for her child's murder.

The State is opposing bail, saying it would not be in the interest of justice for Meek to be released.

The investigating officer took to the stand on Monday, providing some details of the evidence gathered.

Jayden-Lee Meek’s body was discovered after his mother claimed he failed to return home from school in May.

Nceba testified that witnesses said when Jayden-Lee's body was found, there were no signs of life.

Unlike previous appearances, the proceedings were calmer on Monday, with no demonstrations outside the court.
