CAPE TOWN - Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) leader Julius Malema said that former higher education minister, Nobuhle Nkabane, should "humble" herself if she wants to make a political comeback.

Nkabane was fired by President Cyril Ramaphosa this week and replaced by her former deputy minister, Buti Manamela.

Malema said that Nkabane was not ready to be a minister and should learn from her mistakes over the SETA board appointment fallout.

Malema gave his advice to Nkabane at an EFF press briefing in Cape Town on Thursday, in preparation for the party’s anniversary celebrations in Khayelitsha on Saturday.

"The first thing she must do is to stop chewing gum in a meeting. The second is she must be humble and know that she doesn’t know and be prepared to be guided and be advised by proper people."
