JOHANNESBURG - Thursday is expected to be the last day of the State’s case in the Senzo Meyiwa trial, with prosecutors preparing to hand up their final documents.
The State has gone through all its witnesses since the trial restarted before a new judge in July 2023.

Five men are accused of the Bafana Bafana captain in 2014 murder at the home of his girlfriend, singer Kelly Khumalo.
It’s been exactly two years since the restart button was pressed in the Meyiwa trial and Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng took over from Judge Tshifhiwa Maumela.
But the court has only heard from the State, with evidence that prosecutors believe links the five accused to Senzo Meyiwa's murder.
State advocate George Baloyi said their case is at the very end.
“It’s just this one document that needs to be handed up, and after handing up this document, this will conclude the presentation on behalf of the state.”
Then it will be the turn of the defence to make their versions known and call their own witnesses.
The court will hear what’s next in the Meyiwa trial.
