5 suspected cash-in-transit robbers killed in confrontation with cops in Crown Mines

JOHANNESBURG - Five suspected cash-in-transit robbers have been killed in a confrontation with police in Crown Mines.

The shootout happened on Thursday night.

The operation included officers from Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.

Police said the suspected robbers were wanted for committing crimes in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.

Gauteng police commissioner Tommy Mthombeni said guns and banknotes were also recovered at the scene.
