Gauteng police officer guns down girlfriend and her brother, before shooting himself
It’s understood that the captain of a police station and his girlfriend were celebrating her birthday at their home in Protea Glen in Soweto before the incident took place on Sunday morning.

JOHANNESBURG - A Gauteng police officer has shot and killed his girlfriend and her brother before turning the gun on himself.
The incident occurred on Sunday morning, a day after the Captain of a police station and his partner hosted a birthday celebration at their home in Protea Glen, Soweto.
Police said some community members saw the officer draw the firearm and shoot his partner, who was also a police officer and her brother.
Three other victims were caught in the crossfire and sustained injuries.
Provincial South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said they have opened three counts of murder and attempted murder.
“The captain reportedly called the girlfriend to the side, and that is when people saw him draw a firearm and shoot her and her brother dead, while three other civilians sustained injuries. He then turned the gun on himself.”
