JOHANNESBURG - Judgment in Tiffany Meek’s bail application will be handed down on Tuesday.

Meek is linked to the murder of her son, Jayden-Lee, whose body was discovered outside his home in May.

Meek has been applying for bail for over a week now, with her legal team poking holes in the State’s evidence.

On Monday, the court heard the State’s and the defence's closing arguments.

Meek’s lawyer, Novel Naidoo, emphasised that the State's evidence was flawed and contradictory, particularly when it comes to his clothes.

"There is no evidence that any clothing that was worn by Jayden on the day in question contained blood and had been sent to the laboratory. The State or the investigating officer has confirmed that a murder weapon has not been recovered in this matter."

Meanwhile, the State had argued that the defence used speculations in most of its arguments.

The community of Fleurhof has on occasion been outside the court to protest against the granting of bail.

Many people from different communities in the western parts of Johannesburg have been demonstrating outside the Roodepoort Magistrate Court, calling for Meek to be denied bail.
