JOHANNESBURG - Pilots represented by union, Solidarity, are calling for a formally revised written schedule from low-cost carrier, FlySafair.

The airline and union returned to the CCMA on Wednesday to continue talks around working conditions, salaries and flight rosters.

This as the pilots' strike enters its second week, disrupting flight operations nationwide.

Solidarity said it was not informed of any revised pilot schedule nor notified that rest weekends had been factored in.

The union made the claims after pilots this week penned an open letter to FlySafair, stressing that they only wanted stability and never intended for the strike to drag on.

Pilots raised concerns about fatigue and safety, saying they were responsible for hundreds of human lives and could not operate effectively if compromised.

The letter also dismissed FlySafair's public statements on salaries and working hours as misrepresentations.

The company, in turn, said it would not be drawn into a public back-and-forth and was focused on finding a solution through formal mediation.
