Suspects linked to murder of Emalahleni Municipality's Xoliseka Lali due back in court next week

DURBAN - The three suspects linked to the murder of Emalahleni Municipality chief whip in the Eastern Cape, Xoliseka Lali, will now return to court next week.
The accused - Bavuyisile Mdingi, Mvuzo Madana and Sonwabiso Siko - made their first appearance in the Queenstown Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
They are charged with the murder of the local government official, who was also an African National Congress (ANC) politician.
Lali was murdered while at his rented accommodation in Komani last week.

"The case was postponed to 6 August 2025. The SAPS confirms that investigations into this matter remain active and appeals to the public to refrain from speculation. The judicial process will be respected, and updates will be provided as appropriate."
