Fose's remains were discovered in an open veld at Durban Deep on 1 June.
NPA spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane said, despite the setback, the investigation continues to unearth what transpired on the day Fose was brutally killed.
“Further information brought to the fore by the NPA's consultations with other witnesses, the NPA deemed it fit, fair and responsible to withdraw the charges and allow investigations to continue. We continue in our journey to seek justice for Fose's family and urge the community to work with us in our attempts.”
