CAPE TOWN - Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema said he won’t hesitate to sue Patriotic Alliance (PA) leader Gayton McKenzie for bad-mouthing him.

In the latest round of potshots, McKenzie called Malema stupid - “‘n dom ding” - a gossip, and a bank robber in a social media message to his party supporters on Monday night.

Responding to EWN’s Politricking, Malema said he won’t take it lying down and that, despite the coalition in the City of Johannesburg, he doesn’t view the PA as an ally.

In a wide-ranging message to PA supporters, McKenzie also took a swipe at Malema following the red berets’ 12th birthday rally in Cape Town last weekend, saying that the PA has been slamming the EFF in by-elections.

McKenzie told supporters that the EFF is in ICU, that Malema gossips without facts, and can’t prove how he funds his lavish lifestyle.

“Me and him we are ex-criminal colleagues. I used to rob banks; he used to do VBS. He is robbing banks too.”

Responding to McKenzie’s claims on EWN’s Politricking podcast, Malema referred to McKenzie as a prisoner, and said over the years, the EFF’s learnt to accept the now-defunct VBS Mutual Bank jabs.

“I’ve never robbed anything in my entire life. Never.”

Malema, who has already filed two defamation suits against the PA’s deputy president, Kenny Kunene, and won one of them after Kunene called him a cockroach in 2021, said he won’t hesitate to strike again for this latest round of insults.
