Malema warns party members of attempts to destroy EFF through the creation of alternative organisations

JOHANNESBURG - Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has warned party members of attempts to destroy the red berets through the creation of alternative organisations.

In his opening remarks during the 3rd central command committee meeting, which is taking place in Bela Bela, Malema said attempts to infiltrate the party had failed, with so-called alternatives also having been established over the past year.

He makes reference to the now-defunct moonshot pact, which was led by the Democratic Alliance (DA) but abandoned following the 2024 general elections

Malema, without mentioning the names Umkhonto Wesizwe and the most recently formed Mayibuye Consultative process, calls on party members to look past attempts to fracture the EFF.

Julius Malema, without mentioning the name MK Party, said it represents gross levels of incompetence, corruption and capture by neo-colonial interests.

Warning that the party led by former president Jacob Zuma will sell the country’s interests to the highest bidder.

Earlier in the week, he shared some of his thoughts on the official opposition with EWN’s Politricking.

"We are not in a fight with MK; we just decided to concentrate on our party and build our party because when we tried to be nice people, we almost got killed for being nice."

Of the consultative process led by his former deputy, Floyd Shivambu, Malema said it’s a clearly established and resolved-upon political party, despite his former deputy publicly saying there is no firm decision on the matter as yet.

Malema further accuses Mayibuye of subjecting people to lazy, cowardly rants aimed at de-campaigning the red berets.

In questioning their motive, he claims Shivambu and his cohort never speak out against racists or capital.
