Despite owner Brandon Timmy recently announcing the permanent closure of the academy, many families are still seeking answers as they have already paid for their children to participate in another event in Spain scheduled for September.

Mkohla says she paid R48,500 into the academy's account for the upcoming tournament, but after hearing about the recent incident, she wants nothing to do with them.

"It was so shocking. It's a nightmare. I was thinking of what if my child was there at this July trip."

She adds that she has received no communication from the academy despite numerous emails requesting a refund.
