Cape Town’s BT Football Academy is in the spotlight again.
Following a recent incident where 25 young people and three coaches were stranded in Lisbon, Portugal, after the academy failed to secure return flights for them, more trouble is brewing.

Despite owner Brandon Timmy recently announcing the permanent closure of the academy, many families are still seeking answers as they have already paid for their children to participate in another event in Spain scheduled for September.
Mkohla says she paid R48,500 into the academy's account for the upcoming tournament, but after hearing about the recent incident, she wants nothing to do with them.
"It was so shocking. It's a nightmare. I was thinking of what if my child was there at this July trip."

She adds that she has received no communication from the academy despite numerous emails requesting a refund.
"Nothing at all. We've been sending emails...nothing...it's just quiet...they are not even responding."

Mkohla stresses that this situation is not only a financial setback but has also left her son extremely disappointed.
