JOHANNESBURG - The alleged mastermind behind the murder of popular musician Oupa Sefoka, known as DJ Sumbody, is expected to apply for bail in the Alexandra Magistrate's Court on Wednesday morning.
Katiso "KT" Molefe was arrested in July in connection with the crime.
Sefoka died in November 2022, together with two of his bodyguards, during a drive-by shooting in Woodmead.
When Molefe was arrested in connection with a hit on DJ Sumbody, he was already out on bail for another hit on Vereeniging engineer, Armand Swart.
Molefe was released on bail by the Pretoria High Court after his application was initially denied in a lower court.
On Wednesday, Molefe is expected to bring another application for bail before the Alexandra Magistrate's Court, where he faces charges being the alleged mastermind behind DJ Sumbody’s murder.
But he is not the only musician that Molefe is accused of calling a hit on.
Last week, police confirmed that the Sandton businessman hasd also been charged for the 2022 murder of a musician known as DJ Vintos, whose real name was Hector Buthelezi.
Molefe will appear alone in the Alexandra Magistrate's Court, with his co-accused, the alleged hitmen, not applying for bail.
