DURBAN - There has been another deadly shooting in Lusikisiki in the Eastern Cape.
Two women were attacked on Tuesday, allegedly by someone known to them in Ngobazana Village.
This is the same area where 18 people were shot dead last year during a ceremony.
Eastern Cape police said that a gunman shot his 22-year-old pregnant former lover at a tavern and later went home and opened fire on his wife while she was asleep.
The motive for the attacks is unknown and the man is at large.
Police spokesperson, Nobuntu Gantana, said that both victims died from the gunshot wounds sustained in the attacks.
"The motive for the killings remains unknown at this stage. Police are appealing to anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts to contact Lusikisiki detective, Colonel Siyabulela Kufa, on 082 302 5118."
Police are investigating two murder cases.
