JOHANNESBURG - With less than three months to go before the G20 Summit, Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero is confident the city’s infrastructure problems will be resolved in time for the international event.
In November, heads of states from across the globe are expected to descend on South Africa for the summit of the world's emerging and developed economies.

Johannesburg has been chosen as the host city; however, some political parties have raised concerns over the city’s state of infrastructure in relation to potholes, dysfunctional streetlights, and poor service delivery.
In an interview with EWN, Morero said the city is attending to all those issues.
“Johannesburg is ready to host the G20. Our infrastructure is world-class - except where we have a bit of challenges. We are addressing those challenges.”
Morero said inspections have been done at some of the host venues, including Nasrec, the Sandton Convention Centre, and Melrose Arch.
“The summit itself is happening in November. We will be ready for it. We would have made sure that as part of our implementation of our service delivery programmes, it also covers the areas where the G20 will be held.”
