CAPE TOWN - President Cyril Ramaphosa wants gender to be more mainstream in all government policy and must be applied in every challenge facing the country.
He said that no government decision or policy must be made without considering women and the impact on their everyday lives.
Ramaphosa has detailed this in his latest newsletter where he also calls on the upcoming national dialogue to be a place for women to raise their voices.
President Ramaphosa said on Friday this week, several organisations from across the country will gather at the national convention in Pretoria to kickstart the National Dialogue process.
He said given the history of women’s struggles in our country, it is therefore to be expected that women will once again take centre stage and participate actively in the dialogue process.

Ramaphosa said “a gendered lens” must be consistently applied to every challenge facing country and in developing and implementing solutions.
He says women make up more than half of the country’s population and women are affected by every political, social and economic issue facing the country.
With the first national convention taking place during women’s month, Ramaphosa called on all sectors of society to come together to ensure their full participation.
