Joe and Donell Jones to headline rescheduled Ndlala Mall grand opening
However, Tank’s withdrawal seems to have paved the way for a new lineup, with R&B heavyweight Joe staying in South Africa to perform and platinum-selling artist Donell Jones joining the bill for the August 23 relaunch.

JOHANNEBSURG - The planned grand opening of Pretoria’s Ndlala Mall has faced several shake-ups in recent weeks including a cancellation by headliner Tank which led to the event being postponed.
However, Tank’s withdrawal seems to have paved the way for a new lineup, with R&B heavyweight Joe staying in South Africa to perform and platinum-selling artist Donell Jones joining the bill for the August 23 relaunch.
Following his performance at the Women’s Day concert this past weekend, Joe Thomas revealed on social media that he will be remaining in the country.
“South Africa, I am staying to support my friend Thami Ndlala, and I have a surprise for you,” Thomas said.
Originally planned for August 2 as a two-day celebration, the opening was set to feature the 49-year-old R&B artist Tank as the headliner. Singer Zonke was also scheduled to perform at the 550-seat Ndlala Arena, located inside the mall.
Ndlala Mall, previously Sterland Mall, was purchased and renamed by businessman Thami Ndlala as part of his Ndlalayesizwe Real Estate group.
Ndlala is married to media personality Lerato Kganyago.
