CAPE TOWN - The man charged with the 2023 fatal bus accident near Swellendam is expected to go to trial soon.
Five people were killed and close to 50 others were injured when a passenger bus overturned on the N2
It's believed that 56-year-old David Mayman lost control of the bus and caused it to overturn.
David Mayman is facing culpable homicide and reckless driving charges.

It’s not clear yet how Mayman will plead to these charges.
However, his plea and trial date have been set down for the 12th of November this year at the Swellendam Regional Court.
Five parishioners from different Anglican churches in Cape Town died when their bus overturned on the N2 near Swellendam on April 28, 2023.
They were on their way home from a spiritual retreat in George at the time of the accident.
