CAPE TOWN - The National Sea and Rescue Institute (NSRI) has confirmed the deaths of three men along Shelley Point on the West Coast.
The bodies of the local men were found near the shoreline on Friday.
NSRI Mykonos and NSRI St Helena Bay duty crew were deployed after receiving reports of a capsized boat.
Reports showed that the three men were out fishing when the boat capsized.
NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon said police have opened an Inquest docket.
“The bodies of the three deceased men were taken into the care of [the] police and government Health Forensic Pathology Services. The circumstances that led to the fishing boat capsising and the time of the incident is not clear, and police are investigating.”
