JOHANNESBURG - Youth delegates at the Y20 Summit said they are eager to get talking about solutions to some common global challenges - as a meeting of young emerging leaders kicks off.
The youth leg of the G2O is meeting for five days in Ekurhuleni starting on Monday.
Hundreds of youth leaders from the member states are expected to discuss climate change, inclusive economic growth, employment and multilateralism.
Former Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, Ekurhuleni Mayor Nkosindiphile Xhakaza and B20s Khulekani Mathe are also among delegates attending the event.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, delegate Athea Songo said, "I’m hoping that South Africa’s Y20 summit leaves a mark for all Y20S to come and inspires all Y20S to come. The summit is an integral part of our very fabric, and all of our work here should focus on things that are really needed and that are taken into account. We are discussing very important topics for the functioning of itself.”
