JOHANNESBURG - The Alexandra Magistrate's Court is set to hand down judgment in the bail application of the alleged mastermind behind the murder of DJ Sumbody, Katiso "KT" Molefe.
Molefe was arrested in July for the murder of the DJ, whose real name was Oupa Sefoka.
He was later linked to the 2022 murder of another musician, DJ Vintos, who was gunned down at a nightclub in Orlando East.
Molefe was already on bail after his arrest in connection with another hit last year.
His lawyers have used the fact that he was granted bail on new facts by the Pretoria High Court to argue that a high court had already found him eligible for release.
But the State has argued that Molefe was a dangerous criminal, with no regard for human life.
Prosecutors have pulled Molefe's previous records showing that he was convicted of drug-related charges in the UK in 2004, where he was found to have been travelling with a fraudulent Lesotho passport.
Molefe's lawyers said he should not be penalised for crimes he had already served time for.
They also argued that in the three weeks that he was released on bail before his re-arrest, he had done nothing to suggest that he may interfere with the case.
