Ramaphosa says Japanese businesses have an appetite to expand operations in SA

JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa said that his recent visit to Japan was impactful, with hopes of stronger business ties with Japanese captains of industry.
Ramaphosa made the comments at the close of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development on Saturday.
He was also joined by a high-level business delegation.
Japan is one of South Africa's major economic partners with sizeable investments in the economy, of more than R90 billion.
Ramaphosa said that Japanese businesses have an appetite to expand operations on SA shores and across the continent.
"They see South Africa as a gateway to the rest of the continent and want to utilise the African continent free trade area and want to use us as a springboard to capitalise and expand their business operations on the rest of the continent.”
