JOHANNESBURG - The South African Union Council of Independent Churches (SAUCIC) is urging police to intensify their efforts in apprehending all suspects linked to the murder of slain Eastern Cape prosecutor Tracy Brown.
The call follows the arrest of one of the suspects, who was allegedly part of the group of assailants who shot and killed the 42-year-old in her driveway in July.
A 33-year-old man was arrested on Friday after law enforcement acted on intel on his whereabouts.
The council’s spokesperson, Lesiba Kgwele, said that more needed to be done to bring to book others responsible for Brown's senseless murder.
"The breakthrough in the investigation gives us hope that contract killings that seek to undermine the functionality of the criminal justice system are being pursued relentlessly. No effort must be spared until all four suspects responsible for the ghastly and gruesome assassination are behind bars, remarked the cardinal."
