LUSIKISIKI - A key witness in the Lusikisiki mass murder trial is expected to return to the witness stand on Friday as the State leads critical evidence about the murders of the 18 victims.

The group was shot and killed in Ngobozana Village in September 2024.

The witnesswas charged in the murder case after police circulated his picture with other accused in 2024. However, he has since turned State witness.

During his testimony on Thursday, the witness revealed details about his relationship with accused 1, Mzikisi Ndamase the alleged mastermind.

He told the court that he and accused 1 shared a prison cell in Mthatha, where Ndamase was jailed.

Ndamase has been behind bars since 2007 for murder.

The witness told the court that after his release, he participated in criminal elements at the behest of Ndamase, who allegedly called the shots over the phone while in prison.

The families of the 18 victims are hoping he will shed light on the Ngobozana massacre when he returns to the stand.
