JOHANNESBURG - The family of EWN's associate politics editor Tshidi Madia, has welcomed mourners to their home, as friends and colleagues gather to pay their respects.
Industry peers, close friends, and members of the media fraternity have come together for a memorial service in honour of the respected journalist.
Madia passed away earlier this week in hospital at the age of 42, following a short illness.
She is remembered as a fearless journalist, a mentor to many, and a passionate storyteller who made a lasting impact on South Africa’s political landscape.

Her brother, Nape Madia, opened the gathering with a scripture, offering words of comfort and reflection to those in attendance.
" I'd like to welcome you, feeling happy that the lord has brought us together and the welcoming scripture that I have with me comes from Gelation chapter 6... With these words you guys are gathered here to carry each other's wounds and this is what brings us closer together," said Madia.
