Naked man arrested in CT CBD after refusing to cover himself, firing police gun

CAPE TOWN - Cape Town police officers found themselves in a bizarre situation on Wednesday.
Police responded to a call of a naked man on the sidewalk in Keerom Street in the CBD, who refused to cooperate after he was instructed to cover himself.
While trying to arrest the man, police said he managed to grab one of the police officer’s gun.
In video clips of the incident, shared on social media, the man can be seen firing at least three shots, two of them into the ground.
Police spokesperson Malcolm Pojie said police eventually were able to contain the situation.
"The members overpowered the suspect and arrested him on charges of robbery of a firearm, discharge of a firearm in a public space and public indecency. He will appear in the Cape Town Magistrates Court once charged."
